Assistant Manager – Innovation Financing (M/F) – 6 months internship

The Corporate-Granular team is looking for a trainee assistant manager to manage funds dedicated to the financing of research and development programmes of innovative SMEs and SMIs in various sectors (biotechnology, information technology, IT, etc.) and eligible for the Research Tax Credit. The first fund was launched in 2015, the second in 2018 and the third was launched in January 2020 with a capacity of 180 million euros.

This is a 6 month internship in Paris (8th arrondissement), to be started in July 2022.

Job purpose

Reporting to the manager, you will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Drawing up summary notes on the companies financed: detailed study of the company’s activity, its financial situation, its shareholding and its research programs
  • Calculation of the financial elements for each file (sale price, discounts, amounts to be returned to borrowers, interest, etc.)
  • Preparation of the fund’s investment committees (formatting of credit files and collection of opinions from external experts), participation and presentation of files in committee, redaction of reports
  • Management of legal documents during the implementation of each acquisition (drafting of contracts, notification of assignment of receivables)
  • Reporting to investors and Sienna Private Credit management on the status of the receivables portfolio
  • Various tasks related to the management of the fund (payment orders, preparation of correspondence, etc.)

Job requirements

Education:

  • Student/graduate with a Master’s degree, specialising in economics/finance, looking for an end-of-study internship or the second part of a gap year.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in investment banking, private equity, auditing, financing, transaction services, consulting, or other experience with a strong corporate finance component.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Good command of office tools (Excel, Access).
  • Interest in asset management and financial analysis
  • Ability to write and summarise, as well as to work independently
  • Fluent in French and English
