BIODIVERSITY: SIENNA IM EQUIPS ITSELF WITH A NEW TOOL DEVELOPED BY HABITAT
Sienna Investment Managers (Sienna IM), a pan-European asset manager, and Habitat, a Montreal-based environmental solutions company, have signed a transatlantic partnership to better measure biodiversity in private debt fund portfolios and thus contribute to its preservation.
As part of this partnership, Sienna IM’s analysis and management teams, specialized in the direct financing of mid-sized European companies, will have access to the innovative and first-of-its-kind tool in Europe, NatureInvest™, launched today at the COP16 Biodiversity Summit in Colombia. This tool, developed by Habitat’s R&D team, has the unique ability to quickly and scientifically assess the potential impact of an investment on biodiversity, as well as the assessed company’s level of commitment to biodiversity, its internal strategies, and the additional nature of its impact on existing legislation. This multidimensional analysis approach represents a major advancement in the field.
