FRAUD ALERT - VIGILANCE REQUESTED

The Sienna Investment Managers Group would like to draw your attention to the risk of identity usurpation by fraudsters inciting individual investors to invest in fraudulent financial investments. The companies of the Sienna Investment Managers Group do not approach individual investors directly and therefore we ask you to exercise the utmost vigilance by not responding to any investment solicitations via e-mail, telephone calls or social networking/instant messaging. If you have made a payment to a scammer, contact your bank immediately to block the transfer or request the return of the funds paid. You can report these practices via the government website: www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr

Biodiversity, a key environmental issue

Biodiversity is the cornerstone of our economy and society. It is defined as diversity between species, within species, ecosystems and their interactions. Biodiversity and nature’s benefits to humanity influence almost every aspect of human development and are essential to achieving the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). They contribute to food production, water purification, climate regulation, and disease control, called ecosystem services. However, these resources are being depleted and degraded much faster than at any other time in human history, almost exclusively due to human activities.

The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) estimates that 50% of global GDP will be affected by biodiversity loss. In this respect, biodiversity is crucial and at the heart of the business model of companies, since they benefit from ecosystem services. The erosion of biodiversity affects the functioning of these services and poses a threat to financial stability.

  • Sienna IM integrates biodiversity-related issues into its extra-financial analysis processes.
  • This involves the application of exclusion policies (tobacco, unconventional oil, etc.) and the evaluation of companies’ practices with regard to biodiversity.
  • Each expertise (listed assets, private debt) applies a specific methodology that includes biodiversity analysis criteria in ESG scores and in the analysis of controversies
